| Working at FirstEnergy Solutions ended yesterday for the summer. Lots of people were sad to see me go and I was sad to leave them. As a joke I drafted a little document summarizing my statistics on this campaign I was working on there. Basically, there were customers in Pennsylvania that had been signing up with another electric supplier while still in contract with us. I had to call and "win-back" these customers. While doing this I kept joking with my supervisors that I should get commission. Anyhow, this is the final tally:
Alex’s Penn Power Win-Back Campaign Summary
303/363 Customers Won = 83%
$0.085 per kWh x 750 kWh avg x 303 customers = $19,316.25 per month earnings
$19,316.25 x 21 months of contract = $405,641.25 total contract earnings
Alex’s proposed commission: 5%
$405,641.25 x .05 = $20,282.06 Alex’s earnings
Needless to say, this put the cherry on top. Linda, the one supervisor is saving it and hanging it up at her desk. They keep joking that my check is in the mail. Hopefully it is not a joke...
OH YEAH! Went to Cedar Point and RODE ALL 15 COASTERS. I even conquered Top Thrill Dragster. It was a lot of fun. I do not think I would hesitate to ride any coaster now after being launched 120mph up and down a 90 degree 400ft hill. Though granted its awesomeness, Millennium Force is by far the best coaster ever!
Today I get my wisdom teeth out! Crap!
Tha tha tha tha that's all, folks!
P.S. Someone buy be a 120+ gig iPod, please.

| One thing that I am really enjoying about summer is that I am getting to read a lot of books.
On book number eleven and counting! |
| |
| 4.0 GPA for Spring Quarter! Yes, that means an A in Calc II!!!!!
Summer = working 40hrs a week, running and having fun when I can.
Hopefully I can get the marimba from the high school to have something to practice!

| New classes! (well some)
- Calculus II (4)
- Calculus II Laboratory (1)
- Wind Symphony (0)
- Survey of Twentieth-Century Percussion Literature (2)
- Theory III (final cycle) (3)
- Orchestration (final cycle) (3)
- Percussion Major Study aka lessons (4)
- Improvisation for MIDI and Percussion (final cycle) (1)
- Percussion Ensemble (1)
9 classes for 18 credits (which is the maximum). I am taking Wind Symphony for 0 credits because we are required to take an ensemble credit every quarter (in addition to Percussion Ensemble) but I wanted to fit more music electives in.
Right now I have enough credits and I am considered a senior. This means since I usually take 17-18 credits per quarter, next year I will only have to average 13-14 credits per quarter!

| Finals are sparse this quarter. The only true final I have is Calculus on Monday. I have a Theory III test tomorrow but it's not really a final as we take three tests throughout the quarter (this being the third). The only other possible consideration for a final would be in Orchestration in which we have to orchestrate something of our choosing for a full orchestra as a final project. I chose to do a Lennon-McCartney classic (well, mostly McCartney) Fool on the Hill. It is not due til next Wednesday but I finished it early so I could leave Monday night after my Calculus exam. I think it turned out pretty well. Good for me...
I'll be Greyhounding it Monday to Columbus to stay with Reba until her last final on Thursday. Should be fun I suppose. Lots of my friends will still be there, maybe we will get to chill!
